Matcha Sifter

A burui—or matcha sifter—and storage canister for culinary and ceremonial matcha. Sifting matcha is a critical step to a smooth, creamy bowl of ceremonial matcha as well as a well-prepared matcha latte free of clumps.

While matcha sifters can be easily found online, we desired a sifter that could also be used as tea storage and that would be of equal quality as our handmade teaware. We commissioned Kotodo to craft a matcha canister in the same cream color as our loose leaf tea tins. Includes sifter, matcha canister, and plastic sifting paddle. Cream colored.

Please note that the lid has a small indentation on the back, which is used by the maker to dip the tin in lacquer.
