Wood-fired tea bowl made by Toru Hatta in Sakaishi, Osaka, Japan. Made using white decorative mud applied over red clay. The glaze is made of wood ashes mixed by the ceramicist, then wood-fired to accentuate the glazes' textures. The rim was molded slightly into a petal-like shape.
This bowl is not quite large enough to serve as a matcha bowl (chawan). We recommend using it as a medium-sized tea cup.
Measures ~4" in diameter. Comfortably holds 180ml (6oz).
