An herbal blend from Shizuoka made of barley leaf, katsura camphor twigs (young cinnamon), cassia mimosoides (beans), and hōjicha (roasted green tea).
This is part of our producer's yakuzen tea blends. Yakuzen is the Japanese term for Chinese medicine; more recently, yakuzen cuisine has risen in popularity in Japan as a way to integrate natural herbs into everyday meals. The producer takes inspiration from his wife, who specialized as a pharmacist in medicinal herbs prior to joining her husband's tea company. This, combined with the producer's attention to flavor and aroma, makes for an herbal tea that is both delicious and healing.
Onkōcha loosely translates to warm incense tea.
