Modern, unglazed teapot by Nankei Ceramics in Yokkaichi, Japan. While Tokoname is the region in Japan best known for unglazed ceramics, Yokkaichi is famous for bankoyaki, a style of earthenware with high heat resistance. The clay will absorb tea oils over time, developing a slightly shiny patina.
