A top-tier ceremonial matcha grade that is made from the best matcha leaves through manual sorting. Unlike other top tier ceremonial matcha that skew high in umami, Hōjyu is extremely well balanced and fresh tasting, naturally creamy and floral. Reminiscent of pillowy clouds, soft forest moss, and morning dew.
Hōjyu is very limited in production and only available for part of the year, as it sells out quickly.

This tea comes from Hoshinoseichaen, an esteemed matcha producer in Yame, Fukuoka, Japan that has been perfecting matcha since 1946. A preferred producer by traditional Japanese tea ceremony (chadō), this producer works closely with multiple schools to craft teas that honor flavor and tradition. Hoshinoseichaen holds its matcha to stringent quality standards by ensuring its matcha powder maintains a uniform particle size—a necessary component for creamy, smooth bowls of matcha.
