These days seem to stretch on forever, no respite in sight. I sometimes find myself gazing out of a window, only to realize my jaw had been clenched the entire time. Make sure to stretch.
If you or a loved one are in need of self-care, consider a green tea subscription, which arrives at your doorstep each month with new teas, a note from me, and information regarding the teas' terroir, producer, and cultivar. It is a small delight, but sometimes that is all we need to pull ourselves out of the chaos of the world around us.
(For gifts, add your gift note in the Special Instructions at checkout, and I will make sure the first box arrives with a handwritten card.)
Of course, if you are looking for a specific recommendation, please do not hesitate to email email@example.com—I would love to help. We also have a convenient Tea Recommendation Guide on our website.
Odds and Ends
- Recently, I have been listening to Lang Lang's Bach: Goldberg Variations. It's balance of light energy and quiet somberness is just what I need right now.
- If you are looking to wonder, see Paper House from architect Shigeru Ban. What is the purpose of design if its foundation is impermanent?
- Happy Autumn Equinox 🍂 Each year, producers age a small lot of their tea in cold storage and release it in autumn, which accentuates the tea's depth and umami. It is similar to shincha in that it is only sold for a few weeks of the year. I will be sharing a few new fall teas next month, so please stay tuned!
